Terms for using this website, and the commercial terms we work to on client projects.

About these terms
These terms cover two things: your use of this website, and the general basis on which Astera Infotech provides services. Where a signed project agreement or proposal exists, that document takes precedence over anything on this page.
Part one: using this website
What you can do
Read it, share links to it, and quote reasonable extracts with attribution and a link back. Our articles exist to be useful, and we’re not precious about them being referenced.
What you shouldn’t do
- Republish our content wholesale as your own
- Use automated tools to submit the contact form or scrape the site aggressively
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the site or its infrastructure
- Use our name, logo, or brand in a way that suggests a partnership that doesn’t exist
Accuracy of information
We write our articles and service pages carefully, but technology changes and general guidance isn’t advice about your specific situation. Nothing on this website is a binding quotation, and nothing in a blog post should be treated as professional advice for your particular circumstances. Ask us directly and we’ll give you a considered answer.
Availability
We aim to keep this website available continuously but don’t guarantee uninterrupted access. Maintenance, hosting issues, or circumstances outside our control may cause temporary interruptions.
Part two: how we work on projects
Quotations and scope
We provide a written scope before starting work. Quotations are valid for 30 days unless stated otherwise, and are based on the scope as described at the time. If requirements change during a project, we tell you what the change costs before doing it — you will not find additional work on an invoice that you didn’t approve first.
Stages and payment
Project work is broken into stages, each with its own price and its own deliverable. Payment is typically an advance to begin, with the balance across stage completions — the exact split is in your project agreement.
Retained work — marketing and maintenance — is invoiced monthly in advance. Third-party costs such as advertising spend, domain registration, hosting, licences, and store developer fees are paid by you directly to those providers, so you can always see what went to media or infrastructure versus what went to us.
Invoices are payable within the period stated on the invoice. We’d rather have a conversation about a cash-flow problem than send a reminder, so tell us if there’s an issue.
Who owns what
On full payment for a stage, you own the work delivered in it: source code, designs, and content created specifically for you. Repositories, hosting accounts, domains, advertising accounts, and analytics properties are registered in your name from the outset, and access is handed over in writing at project end.
We retain ownership of our own general-purpose tools, libraries, and internal components that predate your project or that we use across clients. You receive a perpetual licence to use these as part of your delivered work. Third-party open-source components remain under their own licences.
Unless you ask us not to, we may describe the work in general terms as a case study or reference. We will not publish anything confidential, and we’ll ask before using your name or logo.
What we need from you
Projects stall on inputs more often than on development. We need timely feedback at review points, access to the systems and accounts involved, a single named person who can make decisions, and any content you’ve agreed to supply. Where delays on these push a timeline, we’ll flag it rather than absorb it silently.
Revisions
Each stage includes reasonable revisions to what was scoped for that stage. Changes that introduce new requirements are quoted as additional work — we’ll be clear about which category a request falls into, and we’d rather discuss it than argue about it later.
Defects and support
Genuine defects in what we built are fixed at no cost, and that isn’t time-limited. Issues caused by third-party changes, changes made by others, hosting problems outside our control, or new requirements are handled as separate work. Where you hold a maintenance arrangement, response expectations are set out in it.
Results
For marketing work, we commit to the work performed and to reporting it honestly. We do not guarantee rankings, traffic volumes, lead counts, or revenue — those depend on your market, pricing, competition, and on search and advertising platforms we don’t control. Anyone guaranteeing search rankings is either targeting terms nobody searches or isn’t being straight with you.
Confidentiality
We treat your business information as confidential and expect the same in return. We’re happy to sign a mutual non-disclosure agreement before detailed discussions — just ask.
Ending an engagement
Retained arrangements — marketing and maintenance — run month to month and can be ended with 30 days’ notice from either side. There is no annual lock-in.
For project work, either party can stop at a stage boundary. You pay for work completed and in progress up to that point, and we hand over everything produced so far along with access to the relevant accounts.
Limitation of liability
Our liability in connection with any engagement is limited to the fees paid for the work in question. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including lost profits, lost revenue, or loss of data, except where the law does not permit that limitation.
You are responsible for maintaining your own backups of business-critical data, including where we have set up backup systems on your behalf.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. We’d far rather resolve a disagreement in a conversation, and in practice that’s how it works.
Changes
We may update these terms. The version in force for your project is the one current when your agreement was signed. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last changed.
